L2 Roaming issue with Avaya wireless phone on WISM -V6.0.196.0

Hello Friends,

I am facing Layer2 roaming issue with Avaya Wirless phone 3620 which are configured WPA / Pre-shared key auth with a SSID1 and face a cut or delay in the voice.

But when i use Cisco Wireless phones and try to roam between one LWAP to other i dont face a cut or delay in the vocie which are

Configured with 802.1x +CCKM auth .

Then i configured new SSID 3 with 802.1x+CCKM settings for the new Avaya wireless module 3631 , but still face cut and delay while doing Layer 2 roaming.

While i was using these AP in WDS mode i never faced this Layer 2 roaming issue with Avaya wireless phones.

In current WISM all the LWAPs are supporting properly to the Cisco phone and Wireless laptop clients.

I request you to please let me know how do i proceed further to solve the issue and please let me know if anybugs or incompatibility for WISM with Avaya wireless phones.

Thank you and Appreciate your response.

Regards,

Akber Mirza.

IP multicast helper-map

Dears, This’s the first question for me in the group, may be this question is answered before but I need a detailed explanation of it: I had a multicast network like below: broadcast host—–[fa0/0---R1---s0/0]–multicast network–[s0/0---R2---fa0/0]—–multicast network. The host needs to send a broadcast traffic to R2:f0/0 multicast. How it can be accomplished & tested.

Thanks, Ahmed Ossama Youssiff

OSPF Network Statement

OK, got it.

Just to educate me. If the question does not specify we cannot send hello (as Ryan DeBerry stated), or we need to do redistribution, or we need na external route, is it safe for me to assume I have to make the most functional solution?

Thank you all for the help.

Problems with GroupStudy

I would like to apologize for the recent GroupStudy outages. I have been running GroupStudy since 1998 and every year GroupStudy has gone down while I was on vacation. This year I was backpacking in Aspen, CO, miles from any internet access points.

I have been having problems with one of the servers in Texas. The server send about 1.5 GB/day of traffic. Recently the server has been running out of memory and crashing. I added additional swap space as a band-aid solution until I can build a new server. There are a few things you can do to help. If you notice you are not receiving e-mail messages, go to http://lists.groupstudy.com and see if the web page is responsive. If not, please send me a private e-mail with the subject 3LISTS.GROUPSTUDY.COM is Down2.

Send me an e-mail saying you can not receive e-mail does not work as I receive about 10 of those a day, even when GroupStudy is working fine. In most cases it is always a local problem and takes me hours to investigate.

Again, I apologize for the inconvenience. I have big plans to make GroupStudy the home you guys deserve, just need money and time to make it happen. The current software is mostly custom scripts I wrote over 10 years ago. To put that in perspective, some of the scripts are older than Google, and virtually the entire site is older than Facebook.

Thanks for sticking with GroupStudy!

Paul Borghese

OSPF Network Statement

Hi people.

There4s a question in my lab t elling me to insert interface E0/1 in the OSPF process, without using the “network” command under the ospf process.

My solution was this:

interface Ethernet0/1 ip address 183.10.6.6 255.255.255.0 ip ospf 1 area 46 full-duplex ! router ospf 1 router-id 150.10.6.6 log-adjacency-changes network 150.10.6.6 0.0.0.0 area 46 network 183.10.46.6 0.0.0.0 area 46

The lab guide solution was a lot more complicated:

router ospf 1 router-id 150.1.6.6 network 150.1.6.6 0.0.0.0 area 46 network 183.1.46.6 0.0.0.0 area 46 redistribute connected route-map CONNECTED->OSPF subnets ! ip prefix-list VLAN_6 permit 183.1.6.0/24 ! route-map CONNECTED->OSPF permit 10 match ip address prefix-list VLAN_6

So, my question is: Am I crazy? Isn4t my solution a clearly simpler and more performing solution, without the need for a route-map? Or maybe there4s a difference in the be haviour of the two solutions?

Thks in advance.
