CCIE Bootcamp in Nigeria
Dear All,
There will be a bootcamp for CCIE Routing and Switching from May 17- 21,2010 at Expert Edge Limited(A subsidiary of Computer warehouse group) Victoria Island , Lagos Nigeria.
This bootcamp will be delivered in partnership with the renowned CCIE instructor Narbik Kocharians of Micronics training.
Take advantage of this opportunity to learn from the CCIE lab hints and tricks and technical depth that Narbik and his team will be bringing to this bootcamp.
Considering the closeness of the date for the bootcamp to the mobile lab in Nigeria, this would be a fantastic opportunity for candidates to fine tune their preparation towards a successful CCIE mobile Lab attempt.
Don’t hesitate to send me a private email to express interest and for further details.
Isn’t there a website, like http://www.micronicstraining.com/, where I could find out this information. That seems like a better place to post this, but I don’t see it there yet.

Hi Ryan,
Thats a good question , sure micronics is a better place to post this , but dont forget that its all an attempt to help people pass their CCIE lab which is inline with the goal and vision of GS .
In order not to make this an unncesarily long thread , please ask me any further questions offline.
Thanks.
I’m sorry, but this was plain and simple advertising, not an attempt to help. Please, don’t try to hide under that guise.
I will ask again – are we allowed to post advertising content on the GS, or not? If we are, I would like to post our upcoming class schedule – which is quite extensive. If we are not, why are some vendors allowed to do so? Only because they are least expensive (hence their commercial effort is considered “helping”)? If that is criterion, by all means, let me know, as I’m sure we can work to correct that issue.
I would actually like to hear Paul’s opinion on advertising. You know, there are OTHER bootcamps and we are not advertising them like this – abusing the forum.
Oh and Narbik – this is not aimed at you, just against this approach, which is CLEARLY in violation of GroupStudy policies, outlined here: http://www.groupstudy.com/list/guide.html
Hi Marko ,
I wouldnt care less if you believe my intentions or not , but i will be the happiest man if through this initiative more nigerians have pass their lab.
Thanks

Sure thing, I understand that you don’t care about anyone else, since naturally, GroupStudy is Nigerian-hosted, Nigerian-operated and visited, exclusively, by Nigerian students. The rest of us are just here to play dumb.
Oh well… Too much effort.
Bravo ! href=”mailto:markom@ipexpert.com”>markom@ipexpert.com

Marko,
Please check his/her IP address and see where it comes from and then, check it against mine. I did not ask the gentleman to do that. He does NOT work for me. I think when he heard the news, he got excited and thought that all Nigerians should know. But you can ask him to clear that issue for you. So its NOT advertisement by the vendor. Your response purely aimed at me and i just wanted to clear this up. This was NOT my approach or tactic for advertisement.
eseosa, was i NOT correct? i knew these guys will think that this was me.
And what is wrong about it. This is information not advertisement.

Could you, please, enlighten me as to the difference in this particular case? I mean, I so wish to inform you guys about our upcoming courses, but I’m afraid not to appear to be advertising…
Me too ! I got an SP class coming up in Canada. Don’t be surprised if some Canadian drops a bomb on GS in the coming days
LOL
I sense Insecurity, i think its time for CBAC

Change the rules then !! I have nothing against this specific type of advertisement and would be glad to have it allowed within some guidelines. For example max one post per week per training vendor. I rather read your news here than waste my time digging into your web sites.
itguy,
Now thatt is below the belt.

Well if it does mean what it means then it is a shame how some literate people stereotype and insult others and no one bans them from GS. I am beginning to wander if GS really has rules or it is being twisted to favour a few people. Here is someone blatantly insulting my country and he will still be posting tomorrow.
I wish you guys luck
href=”mailto:markom@ipexpert.com”>markom@ipexpert.com
Rules are not mine and list owner (Paul) is silent on this subject. I would really wish to get clarification, alas none is forthcoming.
Oh great, here comes the whinning, crying baby. insulting my country…
Isn’t your country DOING a GREAT job at insulting it self by inventing a scam every other day? If I open my spam box, I could find 100 messages from Nigeria, offering me $100 million to get my $100?
I did not insult nor do I have to insult your country as your OWN countrymen are doing a great job at that. Please stop crying and fix that problem so people like me can say something good.
I only asked people so they are watchful and careful as this being internet forum and technology era, chances of a scam are greater.
Kapish?

You just have proven your arrogance, ignorance and lack of respect to other nations. Probably you do not even realize that. Just for the record, can you please specify what is your nationality so I will make an opinion about your country ?
Tom, relax. I only warned about potential scammers… Just helping my fellow group study friends avoid any surprises.
Is it not true that most internet scams originate from nigeria? So why not training scams as well? What’s so hateful about warning some one about possibility of that??? Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile
I have adds for many things online, at several sites, EVERY single rude scammer i ran into, using so many foxy methods to collect info, or to take money were Nigerian, who i know, cause i play along many times, and end calling such people, it is so funny that some even pretend to be lords and dukes from England, and yet respond over the phone with nigerian accent. what a bad people, i do not care what you say about me….. i would not go to nigeria if they promised me to be John chambers himself, forget about a ccie even
i hate nigeria. period
Well, for every scammer from Nigeria there must be much more morons in the so called “civilised” countries. If not this scam would die long time ago.
i think that was a joke, since all the scams come from nigeria

itguy,
For your information, the biggest scammer in the world so far was Bernard Madoff and the last time I checked he wasn’t a Nigerian citizen.
So please don’t display you level of ignorance for all to see. Check yor fact before posting.

Hello All,
It is important to know that we have over 30 Nigerian CCIEs and non of them have had the luxury of attending any bootcamp in Nigeria. This will be the first-ever CCIE bootcamp, that I know of that will be held in Nigeria. Many people are probably scared of coming to Nigeria because of obvious mis-information but we all are not bad people. Infact those that come don’t want to leave because their views changes with time: Clemet Westerhoff (former Nigerian football coach) has refused to leave my country! MOBIL, TOTALFILNA, BAT even CISCO all have offices in Nigeria and they won’t be here if they are not making huge amount of profit, also non of them is complaining of being scammed. If Narbik agrees to come over to my country, he is definitely doing us a lot of good by making the overall cost of the bootcamp cheaper for us. And since most people pursuing CCIE subscribe to GS what better avenue do we have to inform the Nigerians on this list.
We are good people here, all I can say is that most people that are scammed are also looking for easy-money, it takes two parties for a scam to be successful.

Olumayokun Fowowe

Good information for those that had to travel to other continents of the world to attend classes. If I remember correctly there were 3 guys from Nigeria in the class I took a few months ago.
Did anyone care to notice that the same people complaining here all the time? Posting to every little thing they don’t like. I may not make any new friends with that statement of observation but maybe with light will cut on for a few.
Peace

In my mind the difference is that the class is in Nigeria. Taking this training to the masses (serving folks with far fewer resources than you and I)
Most vendors offer classes in the US as well as a select cities abroad (london, dubi, etc) Nigeria is sort of off the beaten path and that is what generated the buzz (not the vendor).
So I think if you are the first to offer a class in Sudan or Tanzania… it will not be the most profitable venue but it will generate the buzz and there will be some very grateful locals that are eager to get skills to help themselves and there families out of poverty.
Hello Stephen,
The so-called buzz started not with the location but whether the posting should have been done on GS or not.
You need to know that the class will be cheaper for Nigerians not because Narbik is turning into an NGO for Nigeria but because other associated costs like hotel bills and flight will not come into play. Narbik will probably be charging the same exact amount he would have collected if the class is in Tokyo or Sydney.

To all,
I don’t believe these fireworks, its simply UNBELIEVABLE, but Nigeria has never had Boot Camps for R&S, Security and/or SP track now they are getting it all in one week, and they are excited. Please calm down and let people enjoy it.
href=”mailto:srobinson@qtzl.com”>srobinson@qtzl.com href=”mailto:markom@ipexpert.com”>markom@ipexpert.com
I am amazed at the level of insanity going on here. What is with wrong with in bringing a training programme close to well meaning people.
Nigerians are very intelligent people and should not be taken for scammers. There are many scammers in the US,UK and other countries. Its a personal thing
I believe this forum was put to discuss technology . and not to attack nationality.
Please guys, lets stop all this madness and let focus on more important issues
Thank you
Olu, Why are you wasting your time trying to “describe glass to a blind man”? I’ve run into some heavy duty bigots on GS and i’ve learnt to ignore them. My advise to my fellow 9ja citizens is what a sane person on GS told me sometime back:
1. Ignore the bigots
2. Learn all you can (even from the bigots)
3. Pass your lab
4. Move on with life.
You need to seperate the Cisco prowess (if any) of some people from their incredible ability to display the mental perception of a (retarded) 3 year old child about other countries/cultures… Regards,Valentine

Of course I normally avoid these threads at all costs, but I am compelled to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed our many Nigerian students in classes throughout my INE tenure. We were even blessed enough to have a recent scholarship winner from Nigeria pass his lab.
I am very proud to have so many Nigerian Facebook friends, and finally, I believe Nigeria is so blessed to have Narbik’s incredible bootcamps roll into town.
Enjoy the training everyone, and please, for the good of the group, just unicast (direct email) me with any flames you feel necessary.
