OT – MPLS FRR

Hello everybody, first of all sorry for this OT mail but need to understand how fast re-route works. Lets say I have two P LSR routers with 2 diferent path between them, one is a directly connected interface (back-to-back) and the other has a Layer 2 switch in the middle. If one interface fails on the other side will FRR detect the indirect failure? and fail over in subsecond time?
